Market days

In Vendôme Country, gastronomy and life rhyme with markets. Here it is where, in a friendly environment and following never-changing customs, anyone can unearth the best local produces. Traditional or themed, these markets are very successful, due to the quality of the goods and always to the friendly atmosphere.

Colours, flavours, odours, quiet commotion... Fruits and vegetables, poultry, wines, flowers, meats and tinned food, clothing and tools, such are the traditional markets of Vendôme Country.

One can find anything: good local foods, the useful, the nice but superfluous, the essential or the indispensable. Unavoidably, the life of the town is governed by the rhythm of the weekly market, attracting the regulars, the curious, those in a hurry and the not-so rushed, the chatterbox and the taciturn, as well as the tourists.

The market stalls of the local producers only stock fresh, reliable, authentic and honest goods prepared, cultivated, or cooked by those who sell them. The Vendôme region has for a long time been “organic conscious” as can be seen where the goods are produced (bread, wine, fruit and vegetables, meats, honey), in the specialist farms, shops and at the markets notably in Vendome, every Wednesday (from 5 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. in the pedestrian street, nearby the Post Office).
